Adele's long-awaited third studio album doesn't yet have a release date or a title, but thanks to some offhand comments from Kelly Clarkson, we know just a little bit more about the album's sound.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal to promote her new album Piece by Piece, Clarkson let slip that she "heard [Adele] is doing something more country influenced with this next record." The soulful British singer has been, musically at least, pretty far from Nashville in the past -- but with so little else to go on, this tidbit still feels like a big reveal.
Clarkson also spoke about an unreleased country album of her own in the interview, naming Bonnie Raitt and Travis Tritt as some of her main country influences. "I just love that vocal," she told WSJ. "[Country musicians] are the best storytellers. That's how my record is going to sound."
