‘Fraggle Rock’ Remake: Joseph Gordon-Levitt To Star

Nope, you’re not dreaming: a live action film based on the puppet-series Fraggle Rock is actually happening.
The show, which debuted in 1983, told the tale of a group of creatures living in a cave called– you guessed it– Fraggles. Amongst their daily struggles, the Fraggles must deal with the threatening Doozers and furry giants called Gorgs.
No word yet on an official release date or further casting but, at this point, we’ll take what we can get!

JGL Is Ready To Fraggle

We aren’t the only ones super excited about this awesome news! In fact, Joseph might be more stoked than all of us. In a statement he said, “The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on Sesame Street and then on Fraggle Rock. Jim Henson’s characters make you laugh and sing, but they’re also layered, surprising, and wise. From Oscar the Grouch, to Yoda, to the Fraggles. I’ve never stopped loving his work, even as a young frisky man, and on into adulthood.”
Joseph didn’t stop the gushing there, though! “Collaborating with Lisa Henson makes me confident we can do something that Jim would have loved. I’m grateful and excited to be working with New Regency on this project.”
Are you excited to see Joseph in the real life Fraggle Rock?
