Google has opened its first branded store called The Google Shop, at Currys PC World in London.
The store will sell Android devices, Chromebooks and Chromecast
dongles, and also offer visitors tutorials on various Google products.
It will also demo Google Apps for business-oriented customers.
Google has also set up a number of in-store experiences, including a
wall customers can spray paint with a digital can, and an immersive
surround screen installation of Google Earth that you can fly through.
According to a statement
from Dixons Carphone Group which oversees Currys PC World, Google is
hoping to host regular classes and events in the store covering topics
like online security and the use of mobile devices. It will also host
‘Virtual Space Camps’ for children to learn the basics of coding.
Two more Google stores will open later this year in Currys PC World’s Fulham and Thurrock Megastores.
