Lady Gaga, Vince Vaughn and over 4,500 participants stripped down
and dove into Lake Michigan on March 1, for a great and worthy cause —
to raise a record-breaking $1.1 million for the Special Olympics.
Lady Gaga and her fiance, Taylor Kinney are about to take the plunge and get married,
but first the sweet pair was on hand to take a different kind of plunge
— into the freezing cold waters of Lake Michigan for the Chicago Polar
Plunge. Taylor and Gaga were joined by his Chicago Fire co-stars, Jon Seda, Randy Flagler, David Eigenberg and Brian Geraghty as well as the days guest of honor Vince Vaughn.
Taylor Kinney & Lady Gaga At Polar Plunge — Brave The Cold For A Good Cause
Such a worthy cause! The major celebs turned out for the Chicago
Polar Plunge on March. 1, and ran into Lake Michigan where the water was
only 32 degrees, The Chicago Tribune reports.
As the days guest of honor it was Vince’s job to run into the water first. The Wedding Crashers
star definitely was freezing, but showed off nothing but smiles while
urging the crowd to join him. “Go out there and have some fun. It’s too
late to turn back now,” the publication reports that Vince said.
After the plunge, the “Applause” singer took to Instagram
to share pictures from the event with the caption, “❤️ feels so good to
do things for a good cause like the Special Olympics. It’s great donate
money, but also great to donate a gesture of love for those who deserve
to be showered with it.”
Such a great cause and with the help of the celebrity’s in attendance
and the incredible 4,500 participants, the Chicago plunge was the most
successful yet, raising $1.1 million for the Special Olympics.
